Winter – Sauk

The Ousaukie Indians or the Sac, which are tribal Alogonquian woodlands tribal peoples.

They resided in what is now known as Michigan, but were pushed far west by the French and settled in Illinois and Lowa. They allied with the Fox and settled in the infamous Chief Black Hawk to fight against the white encroachment in 1832 which lasted over two decades.
