Book 3 – APHRODISIACS

The Good, Bad & Ugly

This is an illustrated book divided into three sections based on the sexual debauchery, evil discard and disrespect of animal parts employed for the aphrodisiac trade. I will not deny that some of it is harrowing, while other areas will make you laugh out loud.

The first section introduces the history of aphrodisiacs and their employment, methods of use, how their use reaps destruction of our endangered species, through mindless superstition, ignorance and greed. I elaborate on the reality and benefits that can be achieved from aphrodisiacs.

The second section lists an extensive A-Z of aphrodisiacs; the good, the bad and the ugly.

Each listing is designated with a symbol of Good (angel), Bad (death) & Ugly (demon). The symbols signify the beneficial and healthy aphrodisiacs or ones that can cause detrimental health or employed for arcane action and death.

Finally, the quirky section where the reader can experiment and indulge in the flavours of aphrodisiac food, including an introduction on the history of herbs and spices. Food and alcohol are crucial factors in most of our daily lives, but when you ask a child what meat or part he thinks he is eating the child does not relate it to an animal that lived. When you ask an adult what his drink is made of they only know wine from grapes and cider from apples. Some do not know the ingredients for ale or beer. I have researched and written on all the favourite alcohol, spirit varieties, their fundamental source and how they are yielded. I even show how to make your own wine with fruit and herbs, what you need and how it is created from start to finish.

The book leads in to four-course set meals under the four elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water followed by each sign of the Zodiac and what each sun sign would be more attracted to in various foods. Each sign has his or her own designated recipe of a beverage, starter, main and dessert. I have been cooking from an early age of eleven and have been inventing and concocting food since the seventies when Vesta Curries (yes cringe embarrassingly, remember them?) were exotic. As a child I was putting curries and spices into practice after begging friends and their parents rich enough to travel across the globe and bring back the spices for me.

The reader can also experiment by incorporating their own menu from different signs, then invite someone around and away you go!

I got the idea from my male and female fanatical friends who love food but can’t cook, who all share a guilty pleasure at watching Come Dine with Me and Dinner Date. So to get the ultimate book you have to include the sellable subjects; Sex, alcohol, food and subjects taboo.

The book is serious, taboo and yet full of fun, elaborated through the quirky illustrations. My market researched showed me that people will react to funny and erotic illustrations. Today readers see first and then react to the written material. It is the front cover that seems to first attract its reader. I would like to launch it on You Tube by making each recipe and giving greater coverage to the book.
